a Greeting from
our pastor
Welcome to the Mount Shiloh website.
My name is Pastor Gilroy Brown and I’m approaching my 10th year in this role. I’m extremely humbled and consider it an honour to be called to serve the Lord as His servant.
At Mount Shiloh, we are acutely aware of the great responsibility we carry as we build on the great legacy of Bishop Herman D. Brown and Lady Margaret Lena Brown. They laboured faithfully, with the original members, over 60 years to spread the gospel and to be a guiding light in the community.
We are still committed to the principle of service and base our actions on the scriptures which states:
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)
We believe that the church needs to engage the community; serving as a resource, hub and sanctuary. In doing so the church seeks to meet the spiritual, social, mental and physical through a range of community engagement initiatives.
Mount Shiloh has a thriving congregation that sees itself as a spiritual family and covers a range of age groups. Individual members are encouraged to use their God given gifts for the purpose of serving in the Kingdom (both in church and out in the community).
We believe in networking with other churches for purpose of spreading the gospel and serving the community. As well as being a member church of the Bethel Organisation we are also part of Churches for Positive Change outreach, an initiative, through which Pastors (from different denominations) work collaboratively to address issues facing the African Caribbean community.
