About Us

On Sunday 26th July 1959, Pastor H. D. Brown and Sister Margaret Lena Brown formed Mount Shiloh Apostolic Church – meaning ‘Church of Peace’ in Wolverhampton.

Mount Shiloh Apostolic Church affiliated with Bethel United Church (Apostolic) under the leadership of Bishop S. A. Dunn in 1960.

In 1968, Mount Shiloh Church brethren bought the land of a former Catholic Vicarage at Hickman Avenue. On the 4th August 1974, the 150 members moved into the newly established premises.

Pastor Brown was later ordained as a Bishop in 1977 and served as the Deputy Bishop for the Bethel United Church for many years. He was a pioneer in both the spreading of the gospel and in serving the community.

Throughout the 1980s Mount Shiloh Church developed several innovative and transformative Community programmes covering education, employment and health.

In August 2014, his son Gilroy Brown was ordained as the Pastor of Mount Shiloh Apostolic Church and Sonia Bennett became the Assistant Pastor. The legacy of Bishop Brown, Mother Brown and the founding members continues today under the current leadership.

Our aim to is to be a vital hub and resource in the local community which caters for the spiritual, mental, physical and social needs of its citizens.

WHY WE SAY ‘IN THE NAME OF JESUS’

THE PROCESS OF SALVATION

1: REPENTANCE

Repentance is a change of mind, a Godly sorrow that impels a change of character.

2: BAPTISM in the NAME OF JESUS

Letting go of our inborn sinful nature and being born again of water and spirit.

3: INFILLING of the HOLY SPIRIT

When you believe in the finished work of Jesus and accept His free gift of salvation, you will receive the eternal ‘living water’ that is the Holy Spirit. Who guides us in our day-to-day lives.

Walking in the spirit daily and resisting the old sin nature – or flesh, is imperative for every believer in Christ. As we’re still living in corrupt bodies, succumbing to our old nature is inevitable. When we do fall, we must be quick stand back up, confess our transgression to the Lord and continue the walk of faith.

4: PERSUE RIGHTEOUSNESS
